Sunday Morning Hike at Little Falls Ridge & Kloofendal & RRH Birthday Braai 🎂

Guess who's turning 3 yrs this month? Roodepoort Ridge Hikes 🤸🏾😃🎂!! We will have a braai right after our hike to celebrate!

**About The Hike

We will start our hike at the Little Falls Ridge which is about 5km. It takes about 3 hours to complete. It is steep and really fun. 🤸🏽‍♂️
We take short breaks at the top of the hills and enjoy our snacks while
marvelling at the amazing views of Johannesburg, Sandton, the surbabs of the westrand and stretching beyond Craddle of Humankind to the mountains of the North West far away in the horizon.

The Kloofendal trail is about 5 km. It takes two hours at most to finish the hike.

Pace: Moderate to fast hike. You will enjoy it if you're fit.
Time: We meet at 07:30am.
Venue: We meet at the Kloofendal Nature Reserve parking lot.
The main Kloofendal entrance is at Gallena Avenue, Kloofendal.

Fee: Free.

What to Bring
○ At least two bottles of water🫙🧃.
○ Snacks, fruits. Hiking can make you hungry. If you eat salty food while you're hiking you become very thirsty. It's best to bring something juicy. 🍇🍌🍊🍏🍫
○ A camera, to capture and share the great memories.
○ A hat. It gets hot, you need a hat. 👒🧢
○ Wear comfortable tekkies and thick socks to protect your feet, particularly your toes.👟🧦
○ Wearing comfortable clothes will make the hike more enjoyable.

About The Braai
I'd like to kindly indicate that the braai will be a BYO, bring your own. We will also share what we can with each other to enjoy that wonderful spirit of community and Ubuntu💞❤️ 😋🍖🍗🌯🫔🫕🥗🍡🍦🍧🥠🧃.
Alcohol is not allowed at Kloofendal.
A braaing facility is provided at Kloofendal by the picnic area, please bring charcoal.

I've written a picnic checklist below that you can use while packing your cooler box etc.

Food and drinks etc.

For Serving
Plates, cups, Utensils, Napkins and Serving platters.

For seating
Chairs or picnic blankets.

Cleanup
Trash bags, Paper towels and Wet wipes.

...and if it rains? The weather forecast indicates that it won't be raining at brunch time on Sunday. It shows that there's a 20% chance of rain in the early morning but stops around 8am 😃, yay!!
