New Year's Eve Hike & Braai

**Hike At Linksfield Ridge **

We will be hiking at Linksfield Ridge on New Year's Eve 2025. We will then have a braai once we're done at Gillooly’s Farm.

A year or two ago. Nonhlanhla/Teslar and I organised a ‘Green Walk’ in Kensington, from Rhodes Park over Langermann Kop, the Scottish memorial koppie, Alexandra Park in Malvern and back to Rhodes Park.

This year, we are trying something a little more adventurous – a 10,5km walk from Gillooly’s farm, up and along Linksfield Ridge, coming down at Hannaben Rd,
making our way to Sylvia’s Pass and the historic little road built by Herman Kallenbach, architect and close friend of the world-renowned Mahatma Gandhi during Gandhi’s years in Johannesburg before he went back to be part of leading India to independence from the British. From there, we will retrace our steps, take a path down along the lower slopes of Linksfield Ridge and then complete the hike with a walk along the Jukskei River through Morninghill and back to Gillooly’s Farm.

At the end of the hike, we're going to have a picnic/braai in Gillooly’s Farm as part of celebrating the transition from 2025 to 2026.
