LoSo Coffee Walk & Talk — Dogs Welcome
Details
Coffee, conversation, and a walk down the Rail Trail — no pressure, no pace requirements, come as you are. Bring your dog along too — the Rail Trail is dog-friendly, and honestly, dogs make the "getting to know you" part a lot easier.
We're meeting at Burr & Berry (a small, family-owned coffee shop) to kick things off. Grab your own coffee there if you'd like — totally optional, we're just using it as our meeting spot and supporting a local small business while we're at it.
From there, we'll walk the Rail Trail together, split into whatever pace feels right: a relaxed walk, a walk/jog mix, or an actual run. Talking while walking tends to feel a lot easier than standing around trying to make conversation, so this one's especially good if meeting new people makes you a little anxious.
Two route options, your choice:
Short loop (~2 mi): out to Scaleybark Station and back
Long loop (~5 mi): out to the Urban Design Center near Bland Street
The Urban Design Center is really the heart of this one — bistro tables, ping pong, a giant outdoor chess set nearby at Atherton Mill. We'll have a cooler of water there for everyone (and every dog) to cool off and refill before heading back. This is the spot to actually sit down, catch your breath, and keep talking instead of just passing each other on the trail.
Everyone regroups back at Burr & Berry at the end. If you're parked and ready to head out, no problem. If you want to keep hanging out, stick around.
