Details

We are delighted to have guest speaker Dr Cynthia Kamwengo joining us from the University of Bath at this quarter’s session of the Good Development Working Group and the Researchers Working Group.
Dr Kamwengo’s research explores global power and development. She looks at South- South development cooperation, global policymaking and the geopolitics of development. Dr Kamwengo is also involved in a project to consider the narrative of ‘Africa as deficit’, exploring the presentation of ‘Africa’ within Uk public life, in our education, popular culture, media and news.
Dr Kamwengo will be introducing this project, inviting participants to consider our own knowledge formation and the impact this has on development aid. We will use jamboards and breakouts to connect with each other and share our experiences. Dr Kamwengo will finish with sharing her recommendations for best practice in international development. The session will last 1 hour.
We will also be sharing useful resources to read, watch and continue to learn after the meeting.

Please come along ready to engage!
