Joomla Bay Area and Beyond

Dear Bay Area Joomla! Users Group members,

A couple of years ago when the organizers of the Bay Area Joomla Users Group changed, a survey was sent to the group and the responses summarized the following desires:

  • meetings, events and workshops in as many areas of the Bay Area as possible
  • more Joomla extension specific subjects at meetings
  • more workshops or meetings for advanced Joomla users
  • various best practice or beginner subjects covered

Over the last couple of years we've attempted to integrate the feedback received from the survey into meetups with varying locations throughout the Bay Area. We have had subjects that should interest a diverse group of users, designers and even new businesses.

Despite these attempts, attendance at meetups has dwindled to small numbers even though the group member numbers through our meetup.com page has increased steadily. Now we have over 500 registered members.

To best serve everyone in the JUG, and schedule new meetings, we need you to respond to the following survey. It is just 4 questions and should only take a few minutes of your time.

Go to: http://joomlabayarea.com/questions

As you answer the questions, consider carefully if being a member of the Bay Area JUG is a good fit for you. If it is not of value at this time, or you do not foresee coming to meetings or responding to discussions, then we humbly ask that you remove yourself from the group until a time that you are prepared to engage as a member, where you would be welcome to rejoin. The numbers of the group are deceptive and it would be more beneficial for all involved to have a smaller, active group, than a large, inactive group.

Thanks in advance for your responses. They will not be shared. They are to assist us in creating a strong network of engaged people and businesses that will share information, work on projects together or enjoy the Joomla CMS in all of its various forms.

This email has also been posted on our Meetup Discussion Forum. If you would like to have further discussion about this subject with the group please do so there.

See you 'round the Joomlaverse!
