Hello, Joyful Hub friends!
This winter, we are inviting you to a very special, 100% authentic Korean event: Kimjang (Kimchi Making Day).
But here is the honest truth: This is NOT a fancy cooking class. This is NOT a comfortable tourist experience.
This is REAL WORK. 💪🌶️
We are making Kimchi for our church community (about 100 people) to eat for the next few months. It involves physical labor, heavy lifting, and getting messy with red pepper paste.
Wait, why should you join?

  1. Experience "Real Korea": Kimjang is about neighbors helping each other. Feel the true Korean "Jeong" (bond) by sweating together.
  2. THE BEST LUNCH EVER: In Korea, there is a golden rule for Kimjang day. After the hard work, we eat freshly made Kimchi with Boiled Pork Slices (Suyuk, 수육). This combination is legendary. It tastes 10x better after you've worked for it! 🍖🥬

What we will do:

  • 📦 Moving: Carrying heavy boxes of salted cabbage and radishes.
  • 🥣 Mixing: Making a HUGE amount of Kimchi seasoning.
  • 🥬 Stuffing: Applying the seasoning to hundreds of cabbages.
  • 😋 Feasting: Enjoying a delicious lunch (Suyuk & Kimchi) together!

Who is this for?

  • Those who want to experience authentic Korean culture, not just the tourist version.
  • Those who are physically fit and not afraid of getting dirty.
  • Those who want to serve, make friends, and eat amazing food.

Event Details:

  • Cost: FREE (Your contribution is your labor!)
  • Lunch: PROVIDED (Delicious Boiled Pork & Fresh Kimchi)
  • What to bring: Comfortable clothes that can get dirty (red stains happen!), and a hungry stomach. We provide aprons and gloves.

Note: This event takes place at Joyful Church. We are making food for our community members.
