In improv, the moment you try to “win” the scene, you often lose the thing that matters most: connection.

This two-day improv workshop focuses on letting go of control, negotiation, and performance instincts so you can create scenes that feel honest, alive, and deeply connected. Through exercises and scene work, we’ll practice active listening, playing from presence, and discovering the scene together instead of forcing ideas onto it.

Players can also look forward to personalized feedback and heavy side coaching from Stevie, Joyride Improv Founder & Teacher.

We’ll explore:

  • Connection over conflict
  • Discovery over invention
  • Resisting the urge to negotiate
  • Seeking to be affected and authentic emotional responses
  • Finding the answer in your scene partner’s eyes

When improvisers stop trying to win, scenes become more surprising, human, and meaningful. The best scenes aren’t won—they’re shared, collaboratively built, and embodied.
