Talk 1: We Didn’t Mean to Exclude You — But We Did
Even the most empathetic teams can struggle to imagine what it’s like to navigate the web without full access. The talk is not only about coding for accessibility but also showing you what the web is like when navigating using assistive technologies. I'll also share what I have learnt while actively working with accessibility.
Speaker: Tshepiso
Tshepiso is a speaker with a commitment for building inclusive digital experiences. Her work focuses on accessibility, not just as a technical requirement, but as a human responsibility shaped by everyday design and development choices. She speaks and runs interactive accessibility labs that help developers experience the web from perspectives they rarely get to see.
Talk 2: How Rust infers types to deliver Programming safety
Rust combines memory safety, performance and a fantastic type system. These factors combined act to deliver to keep applications working correctly.
A strong type system ensures data exchanges follow the correct contract and unexpected data does not cause unexpected behavior.
Speaker: Thembaletu Mbangcolo
Rust Developer, PyConAfrica2025 speaker, API LLM Security consultant. For the Rustaceans Africa Hackathon, I wrote an option_trade_pricing engine based on Black-Scholes and Binomial CRR which will go Open Source.
Whether you're a Pythonista, a JavaScript enthusiast, or just curious, there's something for everyone. Come grab a drink, meet new people, and let's get inspired together. See you there!
