Dear all,
After being a member of Jozi Walks and Culture since 2017, and joint, then sole organizer, since 2020, sadly I have just posted the last walk for 23rd August, and I plan to close the group when the current subscription expires on 6 September.  
I used to have a number of regular co-hosts, and with walks every weekend I was willing to cover the group costs (about US$215 a year), but by myself, with one walk a month, it is not worth it.
I will miss the walks, where I have made a number of friends and met and got to know many interesting people.
Should anyone want to the take the group over or co-host - please let me know and we can perhaps make a plan – 083 258 5325.
If anyone would like join a Whatsapp group,  to walk once a month on Saturday mornings – I’ll be happy to facilitate such walks – so send me a message and let’s see.

Participation in events and travel in relation to events is for the sole cost, risk and responsibility of participants.
Please ensure that your meetup settings for "JOZI walks, culture and fun" allow updates to be sent to you re events you have RSVP'ed for as attending. This will avoid disappointment as a result of a missed message re a change or update of an event.

Then please can we ask everyone that you change your acceptance to decline should you not be able to make the event. We used to be able to roughly judge no shows, but now it's sometimes as much as 65% no-shows, when it used to be around 30% - this makes reserve and restaurant booking a problem, so please as a common curtesy, change your response. Thanks!
