18:15 - Doors open. Pizza and drinks are served

19:00 - The Way of the Web \\ James Nash

The web is inherently unpredictable. While JavaScript is the most expressive part of our HTML, CSS & JS stack, it is also the most brittle.

In this talk I make the case that we should therefore lean on progressive enhancement so that we can build the most resilient and inclusive products for our users.

I highlight some of the browser functionality we can get "for free" with some simple HTML and how that can give us a robust foundation to then enhance with both CSS and JavaScript.

19:45 - Understanding "this" in JavaScript \\ Buwa Okome

The "this" keyword in JavaScript is a confusing concept for quite a number of developers. This talk aims to bring some understanding to the subject.

Please give us enough notice if you can't make it so that other people can take your place.

If you have a talk we'd love to hear from you.
