You probably already heard about Functional Programming, probably in the context of Functional programming languages like F#. But what about Functional Programming in the frontend world? Is it possible? Is it beneficial?

In this talk Pieter-Jan is going to introduce you to the wonders of Functional Programming, explaining its core features and functionalities bringing you to a world of easy, understandable code. He will do so using TypeScript, a language that was designed for Object Oriented programming.

Micro frontends? Another one of those buzzwords invented by those hipster designers and frontend developers? Or is it an upcoming architectural decision to reckon with? During this session Joey would like to introduce you in the world of micro frontends and inform you about what they are and when and how (not) to use them. The frontend world has always been very progressive, inventing new frameworks and implementations every day. But regarding "Frontend integrations for vertical systems" or micro frontends, the market has always been behind the backend ecosystem. Micro frontends are an answer to the micro services we already know for so many years. Despite being a fancy term, unfortunately micro frontends are not the solution for every daily problem we encounter. Therefore the most important do's and don'ts will be tackled during this session as well.
