Japanese Study Group - Beginner Level (Genki I)

In this group, we'll be using the textbook Genki I ( 2nd Edition) (http://amzn.to/2kXvKF8). We will be using the Genki I Workbook (http://amzn.to/2mcF4p4) for homework and extra study material (Click the names for Amazon links to each).

Sometimes it's cheaper to buy these textbooks from Amazon.co.jp provided you have a credit card without foreign transaction fees. The shipping now is surprisingly quick and inexpensive. The book assumes knowledge of hiragana (https://www.memrise.com/course/58584/basic-hiragana-1/)and katakana (https://www.memrise.com/course/63113/basic-katakana-1/), but really no other knowledge of Japanese as a prerequisite.
