Agenda:
Doors Open between 18:15 - 18:45
Start at 18:45.

  1. Introduction and Welcome by Teodor Irkhin (JetBrains) (15 minutes)
In this short opening talk, we’ll take a look at Kotlin Notebooks – a lightweight and expressive tool for solving everyday developer tasks.
Whether you’re working with CSV files, databases, or exploring APIs interactively, Kotlin Notebooks offer a flexible way to prototype, document, and automate repetitive workflows — all staying inside your JVM ecosystem.
We’ll focus on use cases specifically useful for Java developers. where knowledge of Kotlin is minimal or not required at all.
  2. Session: Cloud Vendor Lock-In (30 minutes) by Björn Stahl (AV Software Solutions 360°): The cloud has revolutionized the way we store and process data. However, with the increasing adoption of cloud services, the risk of vendor lock-in has become a major concern for organizations. In this talk, we will explore the similarities between cloud vendor lock-in and how that compares to the creation of database abstraction layers of the past.
As usual, the answer is not simple and we will dive deeper on the topic of vendor lock-ins and how to deal with it. What are the pros and cons of a vendor lock-in and how you may already be affected by other lock-in effects which you are not aware of.
  3. Food Break, thanks JetBrains!
  4. Session: 42 x 2 Canvases Later: Two Years, Two Minds, Many Lessons (30 minutes) by Gernot Starke (INNOQ) and Benjamin Wolf (INNOQ): In 2023, we introduced the Architecture Communication Canvas (ACC) to the world at the WAD World Congress. Two years, countless workshops, and many canvases later, we're back to share the lessons we've learned, the challenges we’ve faced, and how the ACC has changed how teams approach architecture documentation.
From bridging communication gaps between development teams and stakeholders to structuring discussions about complex architectures, the ACC has proven its value – but not without a few surprises along the way. In this talk, we’ll share practical insights into the ACC's application across diverse domains, industries, and team setups.
We’ll share honest insights into what worked, what didn’t, and how you can get the most out of the ACC to improve collaboration and clarity in your architecture work. Whether you’re new to the ACC or already using it in your projects, you’ll leave with actionable tips and fresh inspiration to elevate your architecture documentation.
  5. WeAreDevelopers Ticket Raffle & Thank you (5 minutes)
  6. Networking and Refreshments (20 minutes)
