About us

Julia is a high-level dynamic programming language designed to address the requirements of high-performance numerical and scientific computing while also being effective for general-purpose programming, web use or as a specification language. Julia eases the development of concurrent, parallel and distributed apps, offers powerful metaprogramming facilities, an excellent package manager and a powerful REPL, all at the performance of statically-typed languages like C. Julia is also young - there are packages to be written, apps to be built, best practices to be defined and many standards have yet to emerge. This is the group where we can make all this happen: learn, share ideas, experiment and build together.
