Munich-Social: Google's Coding Competitions with Julia

This is the start of a new series: The Munich-Social series. We want to meet in-person and do some Julia stuff together.

Let's use Julia on some well-prepared example problems. We want to take a grasp at Google's Coding Competitions. That itself is fun, and maybe you yourself may one day win a position on a Google Competitions' leaderboard 🤓.

We will together solve some problems from the kickstart competitions. You may want to create an account at https://codingcompetitions.withgoogle.com/kickstart, but it is not required as all competition information will be shared.

Preparation

• bring your laptop 💻
• install Julia 1.8 on your system. You can download it from https://julialang.org/downloads/
• install VSCode with julia extension. See https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/languages/julia for instructions.

This is like training for a competition, there is no real competition happening, so all is friendly and relaxed 🙂
