Positioning Julia

There are many passionate and curious people about Julia in the Eindhoven region but sometimes we feel alone and don't know each other. This meetup will aim to bring us together by having technical talks for technical people... no sales, no marketing, no recruiting ... just technical talks with some code. The theme for this meetup is to help position the usage of Julia in different markets, as we will have speakers sharing their journey in adopting Julia. If this sounds interesting sign-up and bring your friends.

Title: Interactive Data Dashboards with Genie: Design to Deployment

Short Description:

Learn to build interactive web apps with Genie Framework, Julia's productive full stack web framework. We'll create an app for data analysis that will showcase Genie's elegant API for reactivity and low-code UI building. Moreover, introduce Genie Builder's no-code editor to visually design UIs without any HTML, JS, or low-code. Once finished, we'll deploy the app online using modern DevOps techniques.

Short description Part 1:

The TIOBE index of programming languages popularity is a well-known benchmark to see where programming languages are heading. TIOBE index author Paul Jansen will talk about the recent entry of Julia in the TIOBE index top 20 (that you have probably heard of) and how this interesting news should be interpreted.

Short description Part 2:

The Julia ecosystem of tools is not that big yet. This also holds for quality code checkers such as linters. PaulJansen will talk about what code checkers are available and how they are evaluated. This includes recommendations from experts from JuliaHub. Besides this he will also show his struggles with implementing an own code checker for Julia.
