Talk 2: Things I wished I knew about architecture early in my career by Michael Lowen
The opposite of doing architecture isn't not doing architecture it's a poor architecture. It's something that everyone working on software contributes to and impacts upon. Considering it's importance it's usually a "senior task" that juniors don't often get a look in, this is a collection of key lessons I've learnt about architecture that I wished I had known earlier in my career that helped me shape the way I think about things.
A bit about Max.
- Bio: Max is a full-stack software engineer working as a freelancer, an indie-maker and an occasional startup founder with more than 20 years of industry experience. He's been using Rust and Typescript combo for the last 4 years.
A bit about Michael
- Bio: With closer to 20 years experience in software development than he'd care to admit, Mike has worked across a variety of industries and roles including Software Developer, Solutions Architect, Head of Architecture & Strategy, and most recently Principal Engineer of Product. During this time he's gained a bit of an insight into the craft of software development and systems building. He's currently applying that knowledge at Flux Federation where he helps to guide development teams in building a scalable robust product for energy retailers.
