About us
Just Remain Creative: Thrift Repurposing & Reinvention is a private Metro Detroit community for people who enjoy finding overlooked objects and imagining what else they could become.
This group is for experienced repurposers, curious beginners, thrift-store explorers, estate-sale regulars, flea-market wanderers, and anyone drawn to creative reuse. Members can share upcoming thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets, salvage shops, and maker markets they plan to visit, then create casual Meetup events so others can join them, say hello, or browse independently.
The tone is simple: RSVP if you want the host to look for you, or just show up and do your own thing. Food or drinks afterward may happen, but they are always optional.
Members are also encouraged to share photos of their finds, works in progress, finished creations, and ideas for giving old things a new life. As the group grows, we’ll add recurring events such as Old Thing, New Life, where members choose one overlooked item, explain what they plan to turn it into, and later share the result.
This is not a resale group, vendor network, or promotional space. No selling, buying from other members, business promotion, commissions, vendor posts, or reseller sourcing. Member-created events are limited to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets, salvage shops, and maker markets attended as shoppers.
The goal is not to build a crowd. It is to build a creative community around one shared belief:
Things don’t have to be one thing forever.
