This is a LEGAL People to People trip to Cuba hosted by a certified tour company. With the travel embargo finally lifted for U.S. Citizens travel to Cuba there are certain tour operators that have been given permission by the U.S. government to operate small group experiences. Small group means a maximum of 24 travelers for each trip. With that being said, Western New York, Miami, South Florida and Atlanta can take over the entire group.

What You Must Know About Cuba!

Entry Requirements:
US citizens require a passport valid for six months beyond travel dates.

Visas are required for Cuba
Cuban Visas - A visa is required. The cost is included in the program price and will be arranged on your behalf. Information regarding the visa application process will be provided after a reservation has been completed. The visa will be provided in Miami prior to departure from the U.S. Upon arrival in Cuba, Cuban immigration officials will collect one half of this two-part card. The other half will be collected upon departure from Cuba.

Non U.S. Citizens should check with the Cuban consulate to determine what travel documents may be required for travel to Cuba. Non U.S. residents will need to enter the U.S. twice, once at the beginning and once at the end of the trip.

Cuba - Foreign Cell Phones do not work in Cuba. You can purchase phone cards and calls cost on average $2.40 per minute. You may also call from your hotel at approximately $2.50 per minute (fees subject to change). Cuba - Wi-Fi is not available throughout Cuba except at some hotels. Most hotels have internet cafes or business centers where you can access the internet for a fee. Expect to pay between $10 and $15 per hour. The connection in Cuba is likely slower than you are accustomed to and in rural areas, the connection may not be available. Cuba -The weather in Cuba is semi-subtropical. Temperatures are generally warm year-round. The rainy season in Cuba typically runs from May to October and the dry season between November and April. However, it may rain at any time and rain gear is recommended. Temperatures may range between 60-90 degrees so comfortable, cool clothing is appropriate. Air-conditioning is common in hotels and restaurants so layering is recommended. Not all locations have air-conditioning.

Required Daily Journal of Activities
OFAC requires that travelers to Cuba keep a copy of their itinerary, as well as copies of travel documents and all additional documentation of travel. This will serve as proof that, under the requirements of the OFAC, you have visited Cuba for educational purposes. We recommend you keep this on file for five years, in case a U.S. official asks for proof of the educational nature of your journey.

Mandatory Health Insurance
Cuba requires the purchase of Mandatory Health Insurance (called Asistur) which is included in the package and which will be arranged on your behalf. This covers basic medical needs if required during your stay. Local representatives will assist if any medical services are required while on tour.

DAY 1, Monday - Arrive in Miami
Arrive in Miami and transfer to your hotel. This evening, enjoy a Welcome Drink with your fellow Trippers followed by a briefing by the Tour Manager about what awaits you in Cuba

DAY 2, Tuesday - Havana
Bienvenidos! Your Cuba experience begins with an early morning flight to Havana, Cuba's magical capital. Upon arrival, a panoramic tour takes you past the busy Vedado area to the iconic Plaza de la Revolución with its towering José Martí Memorial. Visit the Museum of the Revolution, housed in an ornate former neoclassical building that once served as the Presidential Palace. Continue on a walking tour that reveals beautiful La Habana Vieja (Old Havana), the historic heart of the city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll the charming cobblestone lanes and admire the 16th century buildings being lovingly restored and transformed. Lunch at a restaurant on the seaside Malecon promenade introduces you to Cuba's savory cuisine. Then, on to Finca Vigia, home of Nobel Prize-winning novelist Ernest Hemingway who lived in Cuba for over 30 years and left behind an enduring legacy. At the nearby tiny fishing village of Cojimar, view Hemingway's boat and the monument built to honor him. Tonight, a fun-filled evening! Meet members of the Old Styler Car Club and then ride together in a colorful vintage "Old Styler" car to a fashionable local restaurant for a delectable Welcome Dinner. Listen to the thunderous cannon blasts coming from the fortifications across the bay; the traditional "Canonazo Ceremony" has been held every evening since the 17th century!

DAY 3, Wednesday - Havana
On the visit to the bustling San Jose Craft Market this morning, opportunity to view diverse expressions of Cuban art as you interact with some of the resident artists housed in this renovated warehouse built in the 1880s. Then, on to the Santo Angel neighborhood where you'll meet members of the community and learn how the project was founded to better the neighborhood by offering services such as a beauty school, community cafeteria for the elderly, art galleries to enrich the neighborhood and more. After lunch at a popular restaurant, be prepared for outrageous sights as you arrive at Casa Fuster, also known as "Fusterlandia," the bizarre studio of artist José Rodriguez Fuster. Most famous for bringing the amazing designs of Gaudi and Brancusi to Cuba, he has adorned the surroundings of his studio enclave with brightly colored sculptures and mosaics. Truly a sight to see! Later, meet a young Havana resident for an informative conversation about life in Cuba today and perspectives on Cuba's past, present, and future. A dynamic evening begins with rhythmic Salsa lessons followed by dinner accented by panoramic views of Havana

DAY 4, Thursday - Havana
Today begins with a visit to a community Day Care Center operated by the Catholic Nuns in the Parraga suburb of Havana. The discussion is focused on the needs of day care for single mothers and the impact of suitable programs for the children. Then, on to the organic urban farm of Divino, to hear about their involvement with the community, including an elderly center they run onsite and their goals of providing fresh products to the community. Savor some of Cuba's latest cuisine at a nearby highly praised restaurant using fresh products from the farm. Try a game of dominoes if you'd like; one of the favorite local pastimes. Conclude the day at a studio for local and international artists featuring murals and sculptures celebrating Cuban life. Tonight, a festive Farewell Dinner at one of the unique family-owned restaurants in Havana offering wonderfully prepared food along with a traditional setting. The evening concludes at a spirited performance of the renowned Buena Vista Social Club Grammy-winning orchestra, well known for their traditional Cuban music. On your last night in Cuba, bid a fond farewell to your Cuban guide, fellow travelers and an enlightening journey in Cuba
