What does it take to write a screenplay, a novel, a podcast, and a musical — and do all of them brilliantly? Join us for the first of our new Writer's Conversations series, in which Just Write Porto members share their expertise with the wider writing community.

Our guest is Iris Yamashita — Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, award-nominated mystery novelist, and BBC podcast writer — who will lead an open conversation on writing across media. From screen to page to audio to stage, Iris has done it all, and she's here to talk about how.

This session is perfect for writers who are curious about branching out into new formats, or who simply want to understand what makes each medium tick. How does your role as a writer change when you shift formats? What are the unique challenges — and opportunities — of each? How do you even get your foot in the door?

Iris will share her own journey across these very different worlds, and the floor will be open for questions, discussion, and your own insights. Come ready to participate.
