Photowalk: Celebrating Life in Highgate Cemetery

Details
Life, at its best, is 500,000 hours of consciousness. What could be more life-affirming than a reminder that our precious time in this body will, inevitably, come to an end?
THEME: Contemplating death, across many philosophical and spiritual traditions, is encouraged as a powerful means to inspire both humility and courage to truly live the life we mean to. Memento mori. Our photographic storytelling will be focused on exploring and celebrating life. In the words of Mary Oliver, this "wild and precious life!".
LOCATION:
The historical burial grounds of Highgate Cemetery have been described as being in an "Indiana Jones movie set". With our cameras, we will mindfully and creatively explore intriguing gravestones and mausoleums, and walk through the woodlands and wildflowers. This 37 acres site is a vibrant nature reserve, where the plant life grows without much human influence, and it has become a sanctuary for birds, butterflies and foxes and badgers.
