Description of work:
A short story by Franz Kafka, published in 1912, that explores the strained relationship between a young merchant, Georg Bendemann, and his aging father, culminating in a surreal and tragic verdict. The story begins with Georg writing to a friend abroad, announcing his engagement, but his father suddenly appears, accuses him of deceit.
The story begins on page 77 and ends on page 88. Please read the whole text before we meet.
