Tech Talk - Declarative Linux with NixOS

Come listen to one of our community members talk about their experience with NixOS in the first event of our "Tech Talk" series!

Matt Layher has been homelabbing in some form or another for 15 years now, but discovering NixOS totally changed the game. NixOS is a declarative Linux distribution that allows you to write configuration files for your entire operating system. In this talk, Matt will explain how he came to use NixOS on his home server and router, and give a demonstration of the type of flexibility and power you can achieve by having your configs in version control.

The event will start at 6pm with a short networking session with the talk scheduled to start at 6:15pm in the Van Deusen Room.
