Liebe geht durch den Magen is a German saying that roughly translates as "the way to a person's heart is through their stomach". It implies that cooking for someone or sharing a meal is an effective way to win their affection or express love. Food is a major part of every culture. Growing up we already did or did not enjoy our mother's home cooking. We bond by inviting friends or family to share meals and we use food to cope. Food can keep us happy and healthy. It is an an ordinary part of every day life and we spend hours to prepare an extraordinary meal for that one special occasion. Whether we enjoy it or not, we all have to eat and I'm looking forward to hear your funny, heartfelt, romantic, and complicated stories around food!

:: What is "Stories from our Lands"?
We all grew up in different places, having had different experiences. And yet we can connect on a personal level by telling and listening to stories from our lives and our lands. Come and share yours to enrich and cultivate a community of curious minds and hearts that want to get to know the world and its people through conversations and personal stories. You're always welcome, whether you share a story or just come to listen.

Stories from our Lands will be held every other Tuesday at Restoran Aparaat in Tartu and it would be highly appreciated to support the venue by ordering something from the menu.

In order to keep the atmosphere cozy and give everybody the room to be heard and seen, the number of attendees will be limited to 8. Please be mindful of that and only come if you have registered for the event.

I'm looking forward to meet you there.
