Automated Flow Simulation

In this session we will use an automated flow simulation platform. This platform identifies about 20 different factors potentially influencing flow, including: the workflow structure; the use of queues; the team size and structure; the allocation of team members to workflow phases; the backlog replenishment strategy; the task sizes and distributions; personal and workflow phase WIP limits; etc.

We will see the influence in real time of these parameters on cycle time, throughput and flow efficiency.

The participants will conduct a series of experiments to see how changes in parameters influence the flow. Each experiment will be followed by a discussion of the results and a proposal for a new experiment.
