As the rainy season arrives, hydrangeas begin producing blooms. These vividly, round clusters of flowers are the perfect cure for rainy day blues in June.
We’ll explore the Arashiyama district of Kyoto.
There are Umenomiya-taisha shrine where about 60 types 500 hydrangeas grow and Matuo-taisha shrine that is most famous as the guardian of sake brewing and the sake museum.

◆Umenomiya-taishya
Umenomiya-taishya, a shrine is one of Kyoto’s hidden gems. Home to a gorgeous pond and sprawling garden, Umenomiya Taisha shows a variety of charming faces in June as flowers like iris, and hydrangea bloom in colorful succession.

◆Matuo-Taishya shrine
Matuo-Taishya shrine was founded in 701, almost 100 years before the founding of Kyoto. before the founding of Kyoto. It was founded by the head of the Hata clan, an immigrant clan that ruled the area before the moving of the capital from Nara.
This shrine is most famous as the guardian of sake brewing and the sake museum.

◆Arashiyama Bamboo Grove
Located in the village of Sagano
on the west side of the city, the path through the Arashiyama bamboo grove is short yet immersive. There's something almost magical about the light dappling on the forest floor. For maximum effect, approach the grove from the side gate of Tenryu-ji Temple.

◆梅宮大社
梅宮大社は、京都の隠れた名所のひとつです。絢爛豪華な池と広大な庭園を持つ梅宮大社は、6月になると紫陽花が色とりどりに咲き乱れ、様々な表情を見せます。
◆松尾大社松尾大社は、京都開府の約100年前、701年に創建された神社です。奈良から都が移る前にこの地を治めていた渡来系氏族である秦氏の当主が創建しました。
酒造りの守護神として、また酒造資料館として最も有名な神社です。
