PitDevs Socratic Seminar - Bitcoin, Lightning, Nonkyc, Nostr & IRS Discussion

A Socratic seminar is a Bitcoiner led discussion that uses open-ended questions, active listening, and shared thoughts to help participants understand complex ideas in the world of bitcoin. The goal is to create meaning through dialogue rather than debate.

A Socratic Seminar is a method to try to understand information by creating a dialectic class in regards to Bitcoin concepts. In a Socratic Seminar, participants seek deeper understanding of complex ideas through rigorously thoughtful dialogue.

There is a lot of unknown in the current Bitcoin environment. We will be discussing current apps that use Bitcoin Lightning and layer 1 networks. Discussing the ideas of non kyc vs kyc (know your customer). We'll also look at alternatives of p2p exchange like Nostr apps, layer 1, paper wallets, qrs, private keys, seed phrases, etc.

One of the hottest contentions of debate is what is a taxable event and what is not. This discussion will be sure to ignite ideas!

This is a friendly, safe environment open to all Bitcoiners of any level to come learn in a helpful group.

Come join us and bring some meat to enjoy on the grill. If you have a project you're working on bring it to show off! We will have a projector set up, wifi, and electricity. Bring your favorite side dish!

If you have a topic you want to present on or propose a topic of discussion by presentation, please prepare a 3 minute presentation. The more the merrier. I have Usbc, Mac lightning and Vga capabilities.
