Wilson Lake Camping Trip Planning Over Coffee @ Splitlog Coffee Co.

Details
Let’s get together at Splitlog Coffee Co. in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood of Kansas City, KS on Sunday, June 29 at 10:30 am to discuss a camping trip to Wilson Lake in western Kansas scheduled for July 18-20.
Order a coffee from the counter and join us on the rooftop terrace to discuss the trip.
Itinerary:
Wilson Lake is the “Clearest Lake in Kansas.” En route to Wilson Lake, we will stop by Blue Skye Brewery in Salina for wood fired pizza and to pick up a growler of their jalapeño cream ale and watermelon crawlers.
We have reserved two sites for $104, which we will split cost among attendees. We can have a maximum of 8 people and two vehicles per site, so a total of 16 people and four vehicles, so we will likely need to carpool.
Bring your own kayak, or Kayak Zach rentals are available through Knotheads Baitshop for $30 for the first 4 hours, then $5 for each additional hour. We will most likely kayak for less than 4 hours. Call 785-658-2166 to reserve your kayak for Saturday, July 19.
After kayaking, we will drive to the opposite end of the lake and hike a short distance to Rocktown, where the sandstone rock formations jut out from the lake. This is a spot where motor boats will drop anchor, people will swim, party, and have fun.
Sunday morning, we will pack our gear, then before heading home, drive to the quirky town of Lucas, KS to view the world’s most beautiful bathroom and tour S.P. Dinsmoor’s folk art sculpture garden, the Garden of Eden.
That is the long and the short of the itinerary. We can hash out menu ideas at Splitlog Coffee. Let’s make this happen!
