Elide: All-in-one native tooling for the JVM
Details
Abstract:
Elide is like Bun for Java and Kotlin: an all-in-one native toolchain, with drop in support for Java Kotlin. Drop in, with up to 20x faster compiles, and 100x faster code formatting.
Elide leverages GraalVM for a new development modality: native-first tooling with fast startup and shutdown. Install Maven dependencies, format and compile Java and Kotlin, assemble Docker containers and JARs, all in one binary, and all in the time it takes Gradle to get its boots on in the morning.
Speaker:
Sam Gammon is the primary author of Elide, and a longtime Java and Kotlin enjoyer. Google once merged one of Sam’s PRs on Guava despite him not working there, which is considered a minor miracle (it added JPMS support).
