R is an open-source programming language for statistical computing and data science - from data mining, cleaning, wrangling, exploration, machine learning, and communication.
R is commonly used in both academia, in fields like computational biology and applied statistics, and in commercial areas such as healthcare, quantitative finance, geospatial applications, and business intelligence.
We're thrilled to have you here with us. Our mission is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community of R programming enthusiasts. Whether you're a seasoned R pro or just starting, you will learn from this community.
Karachi R User Group is a non-profit platform. We're all about sharing knowledge, networking, and supporting each other on our R journey. We regularly organize R programming training sessions, meetups, and workshops to help you enhance your skills and stay connected with like-minded individuals.

Join the Karachi R User Group for an engaging session on “Building Predictive Models using R” presented by Dr. Zarmeen Nasim (Assistant Professor, Aga Khan University).This talk will guide you through the end-to-end process of predictive modelling — starting with data preparation, handling missing values, and feature engineering, all the way to building, evaluating, and interpreting machine learning models in R.
You will get hands-on exposure to popular modelling packages such as tidymodels and caret, while understanding how predictive modelling differs from descriptive and inferential techniques. Real-world examples will be shared from Dr. Zarmeen’s work in health data science, natural language processing, and social network analysis.
Whether you’re a student, data practitioner, or a researcher aiming to apply machine learning to real-world problems, this session will equip you with practical skills and best practices for developing robust predictive models in R.
