Karl Popper Philosophy - Open societies in an open universe?
Details
Is the universe closed or open? What if the growth of knowledge is potentially infinite - in the right conditions ie in an open society of humans or humans 2.0? What does this mean for humanity, or you? Karl Popper argued these were important philosophical questions with the answers impacting your outlook and attitude to others and the world. Popper once debated and challenged Einstein over his deterministic views - some of these arguments will be presented at the meetup. And for Popper, an Open Universe means Open Societies are even more important for the progress of humanity. As usual, no preparation required, some of Popper's wide-ranging thoughts and arguments on the topic will be provided to generate discussion. The Group usually moves to the Central Social Club civic (Labour Club) after the event to continue discussions over a coffee/drink.
