About us
We are going to organise hikes mostly but also want to do climbing/ bouldering as well as water sports events. Focus regions are Black Forest, Palatinate Forest and Kraichgau. We might do occasional trips to other places such als Alsace (France), too.
If you have ideas or suggestions please let us know. We are also open to new event organisers. It doesn't take that much to organise hikes, so don't hesitate if you are considering it.

Heidelberg Hike: Philosophenweg and monasteries (11km, 480hm)
Karlsruhe Hbf, Bahnhofplatz 1a, 76137, Karlsruhe, DEThis is a somewhat historic hike. After doing part of the Philosophenweg with great views on Heidelberg old town, we are going to visit 2-3 monasteries (one in ruins and one still active) and an amphitheatre built by the Nazis (Thingstätte). On the way back we'll walk along Neckar river to Heidelberg old town.
This hike is medium difficulty, a bit more challenging than other recent hikes but not not too difficult.
If you want to do an easy version you can take a bus to "Handschuhsheim, Heiligenberg" up on the hill. This means skipping the main ascent and therefore the most tiring part of the trip. After taking the bus you can wait for us in the nearby restaurant or the Thingstätte. We should be there roughly around 12:30.Hike details:
- length: 11.2 km
- ascent: 482 m (or around 200 m for the easy version)
- estimated walking time: 4 hours
Getting there:
- Take RE73 to Heidelberg, departing on track 5 Karlsruhe Hbf, 10:12.
- Let's meet in front of the book shop in Heidelberg Hbf at around 10:55.
- Take a tram to Neuenheim Brückenstraße.
- Coming by car? You can join us at Heidelberg Hbf or Neuenheim Brückenstraße.
What to bring:
- water, food and snacks
- sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing
