Castle hike: Annweiler, Trifels - 8 km, 400 hm

Yes, we survived the heat wave! Finally we are going to have a less hot weekend. Let's go to Pfalz / Palatinate for a hike to a famous castle.

This is an easy to medium hike. The ascent may be a lot for total beginners, but at least it's not steep.
Since this is a relatively short hike, we can take some time to walk around the cute old town of Annweiler and get some icecream.

Getting there:

• Let's meet in Karlsruhe Hbf, track 101, a bit before 10am.
• We're taking a train to Landau Hbf (direction Neustadt),
• then changing to another train from Landau to Annweiler
• arriving in Annweiler at 10:58
• Coming by car? You can join us at Annweiler Bahnhof

What to bring:

• at least 1-2 litres of water
• food for lunch time
• relatively sturdy shoes
