Pfalz summits hike: Hohe Loog, Kalmit (13 km, 440 hm)

Let's go to the highest summit of Palatinate Forest. We start hiking at Hambacher Schloss, then go to Hohe Loog and Kalmit. The hike eventually takes us to Sankt Martin, a very beautiful village. We're going to enjoy great views and nice gastronomy and several opportunities for bathroom breaks.

This is an upper medium hike. Distance is 13 km and ascent 440 hm.
It is a shorter version of Pfälzer Weinsteig section 5 (which would be almost 20 km in full).

Getting there:

• From Karlsruhe Hbf: take the RE on track 101, departing 10:06 to Neustadt.
• Let's meet in Neustadt in the station building, next to the bakery, at 10:55.
• In Neustadt, we need to change to bus 502 near the train station.
• Coming by car? This hike is not ideal for this. You can take the bus with us from Neustadt and then take a bus back from Sankt Martin.

What to bring:

• water (at least 1 liter) and snacks
• weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes - There might be a bit of rain.
