Startup Social Kaunas is a monthly meetup that has been bringing the community together for over three years 🤝 The goal? To inspire, connect and educate people about the startup world.

Everyone’s welcome – founders, service providers, investors or simply anyone curious about the Kaunas startup scene 👀

On November 3rd, we’re teaming up with the Innovation Agency to explore what startup life looks like in the life sciences field. Building a life sciences startup isn’t the same as building an IT product – and we’ll hear why 🙂‍↕️

Three startup leaders will share the personal side of building a startup – the wins, setbacks, tough decisions and life along the way. Expect honest founder stories, not a deep dive into medical technologies.

dhealthIQ
Mindaugas Leonavičius, CEO and Co-Founder of dhealthIQ, will talk about Lithuania’s first remote patient monitoring and personalised therapy solutions. How did stepping into the startup world change things, and what does the health-tech scene look like today?

Ligence
Arnas Karužas, MD, PhD, CEO and Co-Founder of Ligence, will share the story of the heart disease diagnostics startup. Ligence attracted a €3 million seed investment in 2024 and is now scaling with FDA 510(k) clearance. The company uses AI to transform heart ultrasound workflows, so we’ll get a closer look at what AI in healthcare really means.

Sentante
In 2024, Sentante announced a €6 million seed investment and was featured on the BBC. Sentante’s technology made a world-first possible: remotely removing a blood clot from a human cadaver in Scotland, with the surgeon operating from the US. And yes – that technology was built in Kaunas. Evaldas Kalvaitis, PhD, Co-Founder, CSCO, and Head of IP, will share the wins, the setbacks and the challenges of building a startup in this field.
