What we're about

Welcome to Western North Carolina Kayaking!

Our purpose is to provide an opportunity for paddlers of all skill levels to meet other paddlers for flat water and whitewater paddling.

We would like to provide opportunities for learning paddling skills through venues such as pool classes (to practice rolling and rescue techniques), Swift Water Rescue courses, and other paddling events. One of our Organizers is an ACA certified instructor.

Depending on the skill level required, some of our trips have a designated trip leader, and other (less technical) trips are leaderless - meaning the group can navigate the trip by group consensus. Paddlers in our group must take personal responsibility for their own safety and are encouraged to inform themselves regarding the particular river or lake they are paddling on.

We are a purely voluntary group and are supported by membership donations. Trips are scheduled whenever one of our trip leaders decide to lead an event.

Thank you for your interest!
