ACA L3 Coastal Kayaking Class


Details
This American Canoe Association Certification Class builds upon foundational skills, increases knowledge and transitions the paddler from sheltered water to more exposed paddling environments.
Students will demonstrate proficiency in at least three of the following conditions:
- 10-15 knot winds
- 1-2 foot waves (chop)
- 1-2 foot surf
- 1-2 knots of current
Participants will learn and demonstrate the ability to paddle effectively, use sweeps, draws, rudder strokes, and linked maneuvers. Includes the use of edging, bracing and bracing turns. It also includes rescues and towing, leadership, and group management.
Additional land based instruction includes trip planning, navigation, and Nautical Rules of the Road.
Location to be determined based on location of students. Either Englewood/Stump Pass or Ft. Myers area.
