Sunset/Full Corn & Blood Moon Paddle from Matlacha

Details
The Corn Moon will rise at 7.46pm. It is also a Blood Moon this time. We leave the launch at 6.30 PM to make the sunset at the North end of the island which is at 7.09 pm. SS and MR are 30 minutes apart. We will watch the SS at the north end of the island then paddle to the south for MR over the sound. This is a day into night paddle, you will need lights for you and your kayak as well as safety gear. Snacks are optional but you should have hydration. Lighting options: glow sticks from the dollar stores, battery lights of all kinds (Christmas, camping, bicycle ...) even a wide mouth jug with a flashlight in it ! You must by law have a flashlight to shine if boaters are near. Reflectors make you more visible but are not themselves lights, stick on Mailbox reflectors (wipe surface with alcohol they stay longer) cut easily to the size you want, even shape. The ramp is now shell but the end is mucky, be careful. Low tide is at 4.30, it reaches full at 11.30pm.. Paddles dip at 6.30 pm, plan accordingly: latecomers will have to catch up.
Don't forget BUG SPRAY they will tote you off, even this time of year !
