Exploring Boggess Hole Placida Sound

Let’s see if the white pelicans are back. Launch at Fishery rd we will be on the water ready to paddle at 10am. This paddle is tide dependent launching a 10 we are 3 hours into high tide. Bad news is we will be against the tides both directions. Boggess Hole is off Catfish Bay in Placida Sound, hoping to see white pelicans. Use the same launch as we do when going to the beach at Boca.
Approx a 10+ mile paddle. Some open water so wind and current are always a factor, you need to be a strong paddler with at least a 12’ kayak. Know tour limits. There are some side lakes for exploring if anyone wants more adventure .

There is a beach where we can get out for a stretch and have lunch

Be prepared for shallow area and paddling against the tides.

Bring lots of water, PFD, lunch/snack , usual gear and an open mind.
