This is not a paddling opportunity,,, but it is a great way to see how far you can advance paddling,,,,if you are free this weekend I strongly urge you to volunteer.

John Miller. Organizer

From time to time Ga Power does water releases into Tallulah Gorge, turning it into one of the best white water play spots in the country.  They are planning releases the first 3 weekends of November.  Our friends at Atlanta White Water basically run the show on the weekend of November 12-13th..  They need more volunteers to make this work.  (12-13th is full- Keep reading!)

During the releases the gorge is closed to everyone except paddlers and VOLUNTEERS!  That's right, if you volunteer to help, you have access to the gorge to watch the paddlers play.  I have never been there during a release but have seen pictures and I can't wait to get there.  My wife and I are helping out on Saturday the 12th so we can get a pass into the gorge.  Volunteers are still needed.  Other than being the messenger I have nothing to do with this but I am forwarding the information below.
Even if you do not paddle white water this will be a treat for you.

Laura has filled the spots for the weekend of the 11th and 12th but there are opportunites for other weekends.

Contact  info is below if you would like to take advantage of this, please mention Atlanta Area Paddlers if you volunteer.

I just got this request for additional help.   If you are free this weekend this may be the best show you will ever see for just a few hours of your time.  If you can, help these folks out!!!

I have to say that your Atlanta Area Paddlers have really stepped up to the plate for these Tallulah releases, I think there are AAP volunteers working every weekend............thank you so much for letting up tap into your pool of people.......they have been great.
If you have anyone else that would be interested in this weekend the Paddlers for Christ group would really appreciate your help.

Thanks again,Laura
