Join Kayaking Houston, KayakPower and Outdoors with Grace for a weekend celebrating the longest day of the year for a Summer Solstice weekend of paddling and camping. Our weekend of celebration will begin with a Strawberry Moon Sunset paddle on Friday and include a paddle down the San Marcos River on Saturday.

## Summer Solstice Activities

Summer Solstice weekend events start around 5PM on Friday June 21st at San Marcos River Retreat. Cost for the weekend is $40 which includes camping, facility use fees, shuttles and commemorative sticker and T-shirt.

Participants must provide their own camping equipment and food for the weekend we will share to make a big feast! Limited equipment available for rental when booked in advance.

$40.00 – $60.00 Campout weekend celebration. Including 2 nights camping, facility use fees, shuttle and commemorative items. $20 if you need rental.

**Pre-requisites:**

1. This is a Wait-list entry event for everyone.
2. Regardless of Experience Level, all prospective attendees will remain on the **Wait-list** until approved by the Host.
3. Any person that has been a "*No Show*" for **any *Kayaking Houston*** hosted events will be moved to “*Not Going*”.
4. Any Person that has not demonstrated: good paddling practices, etiquette or follow directions from the Host, will be moved to “*Not Going*”, and put on the "*Permanent*" Wait-list.

*5.* **Anyone who has their Messaging Options blocked in a way that prevents the Leadership Team from communicating with them through the Meetup App, will be moved to “*Not Going*”**. *This will be verified by the Host when you enter the Waitlist.*
5\. Safety Requirements: ***Kayaking Houston*** Rules require that paddlers always wear their correctly fitted and sized PFD while on the water. A properly fitting PFD is one that supports the paddler in head-up position when in the water and does not allow the wearer to slip out of the bottom of the PFD and will support the weight of the paddler. All attendees must have a readily accessible Signal Whistle or Horn when on the water.

Each Attendee is responsible for their well-being, safety, and property. They should be in good health and physically fit and know their limitations. All attendees must be practiced at entering and exiting their craft safely and know how to swim should it become necessary. Anyone with a Chronic health issue, Injury or Allergy should make the Host aware in private. By signing up for this event, all attendees agree to hold ***Kayaking Houston***\*,\* its Event Hosts, Trip Leaders and Organizers; harmless for any injury or illness, related to attending this event, including but not limited to launching, water hazards, shuttle vehicles and take out.
***Kayaking Houston***, its Hosts and members DO NOT loan, rent or sell: paddles, PFD's or boats, and do not transport, load or unload boats. All attendees are responsible for transporting, unloading, loading and tying down their boat.
Do not use audio devices (including speaker phones) that can be heard by nearby participants.

Standard Items to Bring: Hat, Sunscreen, Insect repellent, towel, and dry clothing (in a Dry Bag). Bring an energy snack and lots of WATER in a **\*\*\*REUSABLE container only\*\*\*\*** or another form of Hydration (no alcohol).
