Paddle the Erie Canal 200th Anniversary!

This is not a Liquid Skies event but posting for those interested. Please contact Don Urmstrong @ mrurmston@gmail.com for details, do not sign up here until you have confirmed with him. This event is for experienced kayakers who have camped before.

For the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal Don will attempt to paddle the length of the Erie Canal from west to east. Launching date: Memorial Day, Monday time to be announced. Please contact him above if interested. Must have your own kayak, camping gear, and kit etc.

Day 1 - Niawanda Park to Widewaters Lockport 20.45 miles, stay at hotel of Airbnb
Day 2 - Lockport to Medina 15.4 miles, stay at hotel
Day 3 - Medina to Brockport 24.8 miles, Camp
Day 4- Brockport to Lock 33, 22.45 miles, Camp
Day 5 - Lock 33 to lock 30, 17.38 miles, Camp
Day 6- Lock 30 - Newark 12.34 miles, Airbnb
Day 7 - Rest day Airbnb
Day 8- Newark to Mays Pt, 23.01 miles, Camp
Day 9 - Mays Pt to Cross Lake, 23.67 miles, Camp
Day 10 - Cross Lake to Pirates Cove Marina, 21.82 miles, Camp
Day 11 - Pirates Cove to Verona Beach, 27.68 miles, Camp
Day 12 - Verona Beach to Rome, 15.82 miles, Camp
Day 13 - Rome to Illion, 25.61 miles, Airbnb
Day 14 - Rest day, Airbnb
Day 15 - Illion to St. Johnsville, 18.05 miles, Camp
Day 16 - St. Johnsville to Fonda, 22.26 miles, Camp
Day 17 - Fonda to Courtyard Marriott, 28.49 miles, Hotel
Day 18 - Hotel to Waterford, 20.27 miles FINISH!
