Perry Lake Hiking Trail Maintenance - Perry KS

Details
We will continue our 28th season of trail maintenance on the 30-mile Perry Lake Hiking Trail on Saturday, March 9, primarily relocating two sections of trail away from the lake, and clearing the trail in between.
Adults and service-oriented children 12 or over may attend. As we will be working with both power and hand tools in an outdoor environment, pets are not permitted.
Our main task will be completing the reroute shown above. If we complete that, we will work on several other parts of the trail that need attention. We have a trailer with power equipment, as well as extra hand tools such as bow saws, loppers, as well as specialized tools such as Pulaskis (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulaski_(tool)) and McLeods (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLeod_(tool)).
Bring lunch, snacks and plenty of water, as well as work gloves and any additional hand tools you are comfortable using. Be sure to dress in layers, as it is likely to start out cold but warm up during the day. Given the highly variable weather at this time of year, be prepared for light rain and/or snow as well.
We will meet at 9:15 am at the parking lot of the Longview Disc Golf Course (39.186820, -95.441111, PLUS code 5HP5+PF Lakeside Village, Fairview, KS). To get there from US 24 to the south, take Ferguson Road north 9.3 miles to 86th Street and turn left. To get there from Kansas 92 to the north, take Ferguson Road south 2.4 miles to 86th Street and turn right.
Once you're on 86th Street, follow it west for 1.5 miles where it curves to the south, then continue another mile until you see the disc golf parking lot to the right. If the parking lot is full, you can park along the road.
If you would like to carpool, we will meet at the IHOP at 3102 Iowa Street in Lawrence (38.927645, -95.259809, PLUS code WPHR+33 Lawrence, Kansas). Meet us there at 7:30 a.m. if you would like to join us for breakfast, or at 8:30 a.m. just to carpool. Let me know if you would like other transportation options.
