Cultural Awareness Across Regions
This four-person panel will bring together Kansas City community leaders with connections to four distinct regions of the world for a conversation about navigating cultural differences across borders. Panelists will draw on their own experiences to explore the customs, expectations, and everyday interactions that can shape how we understand a new place, whether that’s by traveling abroad or arriving in the United States. Through their perspectives, the conversation will highlight both the differences and common threads that emerge when we encounter cultures beyond our own.

The panelists selected for this discussion represent the diversity of Kansas City's international community:
Grace Ahn (Founder & CEO, nVision KC)
Kristine Vainovska Twidwell (President, Latvian American Chamber of Commerce)
Orlando Gutierrez (President, Colombian Cultural Association of Kansas City)
Andrea Khan (Chief Education Officer, Baraza African Cultural Center)

This discussion will be presented in partnership with Evergy's Fusion Business Resource Group. IRC members and guests will be able to join the event, with the option to order an optional boxed lunch.
