Gary Jenkins retired from the Kansas City Police Department in 1996 after a 25-year career, during which he investigated organized crime for 14 years. He attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2000. Over the past decade, Gary has produced five documentary films: 1. Slaves to Hire: Slave Life on Missouri Farms, 2. Freedom Seekers: Stories of the Western Underground Railroad, 3. Gangland Wire: The Kansas City Las Vegas Connection, 4. Brothers against Brothers: The Civella-Spero War, 5. Ballot Theft: Burglary, Murder, Coverup. Gary hosts a true-crime podcast titled Gangland Wire Crime Stories.
Gary has written five books: 1. John Brown and the Last Train, 2. The Immortal 10: A Story of the Kansas Underground Railroad, 3. Leaving Vegas: The True Story of How the F.B.I. Wiretaps Ended Mob Domination of Las Vegas Casinos, 4. Windy City Mafia: The Chicago Outfit, and 5. Big Apple Mafia: Stories From the Five Families.
