This month we will be doing lightning talks. Lightning talks are typically 5 minute talks on any topic you wish to speak on. We are not particular about the length though. You can always just show up and do a lightning talk, but if you plan to do one, please comment below and I'll add you to the list.

A few potential topics for a lightning talk to get the ideas flowing are:

• A gem you think more people should know about

• A new feature in ruby 2.4 that you're excited about

• A resource you find useful, such as rubular

• A dev tool you love but think not enough people know about

• A project you've been working on

• An overview of your dev setup - i.e. text editor, shell, window manager, command line shortcuts, etc.

• Or more generally, anything you think some of the group would be interested in hearing about. It does not have to be ruby specific.

We currently have 3 lightning talks lined up:

• Samuel Mullen - Legacy Code

• Ross Fuhrman - A gem he's been working on to convert a url into a rails object

• Shashank Date - Early experiences learning the Crystal lang

Doors will open at 6:30 and presentations will begin around 7:00.

BalancePoint will be providing pizza and pop.

Please note that the entrance for the meeting and parking is in the back of the building.
