What we’re about
If you are 50+, love movies (old and new), and you are seeking opportunities to meet new people with common interests, this is the group for you!
This group is primarily set up like a book club. We will watch the movie selections on our own time. A month between meetings should allow enough time for each of us to have watched the next month’s movie, so we can discuss it at the next month’s event.
We will meet from 6-8 pm the second Thursday of each month, order food and/or drinks, and discuss the current month's movie.
There will be a new movie chosen each month by the host for the upcoming month. The movie genres, classic to contemporary, should range from action to Western--and just about everything in between.
The host for each upcoming month should also choose a restaurant (preferably with a quiet area which allows for discussion) for club members to meet. The host should call the restaurant and make a reservation for the event--preferably before the event is published on Meetup.
We do ask that all members be vaccinated for COVID, and that political or religious discussions be limited if not avoided. We ask that you only want to enjoy some social interaction, centered around chosen movies, make new friends, and have some fun! All we require is reciprocal respect for one another.
This is not a dating club and people 50+, single or married, are invited to join.

WHO WILL TAKE HOME THE OSCAR? There will be a trivia contest about the movie and the winner of that contest will take home a mini Oscar!
North by Northwest is a 1959 American spy thriller film produced and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and starring Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, and James Mason. The screenplay was by Ernest Lehman, who wanted to write "the Hitchcock picture to end all Hitchcock pictures".
