Kelowna's first GoGeomatics Back to School social will kick off the 2016-2017 school year and is a networking event to welcome students, professionals, and academics in the field of geomatics in a casual environment.

Come out and have some drinks with other students, peers and professionals. This group is open to everyone in any geomatics-related field--GIS, surveying, remote sensing, photogrammetry, CAD, and more. Free appetizers will be provided and there is also a chance to win prizes!

Thank you to our sponsors Esri Canada and Stantec for sponsoring this event!

Dan Mallett of Esri Canada will be giving a short presentation at this event also, called "The Essential Patterns of a Location Strategy." Here's a synopsis:

The essential patterns describe common geospatial functions that re‐occur across various organizational business models and environments. Patterns include location enablement, constituent engagement, decision support, field mobility, analytics, and location data management. These patterns offer organizations a categorical framework for tracking both current and future GIS utilization in a business context.
