We will be having a presentation by Katie Schultz in Meeting Room 2 (upstairs at the top of the stairs) of the library. Katie will be discussing several projects she developed for the District of Lake Country, including a trails mapping application, parks finder app, and StoryMaps such as Scenic Sip tours. She will be demonstrating the process of creating these map applications and how they can benefit the community.

Katie's GIS work experience includes the archaeology, contaminated sites, engineering, mining, geotech, environmental and wildlife sectors. Katie has worked on many linear projects including spatial data analysis, visualization, cartographic design, and map production. She has been working at WSP, a Canadian consulting firm, for over a year and is working towards learning more about GIS and processes.

From here, we have a 6:45 reservation at Curious Cafe & Bar Norcino, 1423 Ellis St. The reservation name is under Dianne or GoGeomatics. If you can't make the library part, you're still welcome to join for the pub social.

GoGeomatics is a networking event to welcome students, professionals, and academics in the field of geomatics in a casual environment.
Come out and have some drinks with other students, peers and professionals. This group is open to everyone in any geomatics-related field--GIS, surveying, remote sensing, photogrammetry, CAD, and more.
