Maps Made Easy Presentation & Social

We will be having a presentation in Meeting Room 3 (downstairs near the children's area) of the library by Eric Martinen called "MAPS MADE EASY and Construction Drone Mapping".

In the past few years, I've become aware of various Cloud-based photogrammetry services as compared to using ArcGIS Pro and Drone2Map to process drone data. What might this cloud software offer? How does it compare with other cloud software? What works well and what seems to be a missing element when mapping? This presentation will review some features of Maps Made Easy and attempt to provide useful comparisons with other cloud-based software.

Eric Martinen became fascinated in GIS during his undergrad at Brock University in Ontario and teaching degree at Queens University. While predominantly working precariously in education for the better part of a decade within K-12 education, he returned to school to pursue GIS, graduating from Vancouver Island University in 2023. However, job prospects seemed to have returned his endeavours back to the classroom with an interesting luck (more on this during the presentation). Eric finds drone technologies interesting, especially how they are used in photogrammetry, LiDAR and mapping. Perhaps his landscape film photography interests of the long ago past are subconsciously reigniting imaging through this new realm.
